While many experts agree that music is extremely useful in reducing stress and anxiety, very few would go as far as classifying music listening habits as a mental illness. There are studies that show that listening to music can trigger a dopamine release, also known as the feel-good chemical.
However, if a listener finds that they are so absorbed in their music that they miss personal responsibilities, this could be problematic. We’ve all lost track of time listening to our favourite playlist.
But unless this is a having a negative impact on your life, there’s really no reason to cut back on your music listening.
